Russell Hoover is an associate in the Litigation group. Before joining Irell, he clerked for the Hon. J. Clifford Wallace of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Russell earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he was submissions manager for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology and earned the Dean’s Scholar Prize in Patent Law. He also served as an intern for the Harvard Law School Cyberlaw Clinic, where he provided pro bono legal services to clients on issues relating to intellectual property and technology.
Prior to law school, Russell worked as a process development engineer for a medical device company and as a mechanical design engineer for an aerospace and defense contractor. He earned his B.S., summa cum laude, in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, where he received the Highest Academic Achievement Award for graduating first in Aerospace Engineering.
