Irell Wins Infringement Verdict Against Apple

Irell scored a major trial win for PanOptis in an infringement suit against Apple involving patents essential to LTE technology used in iPhones and other devices. On Aug. 11, 2020, a jury in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found that Apple infringed claims of the five patents at issue, determined all asserted claims were valid, and found willful infringement. The case was the first patent jury trial in the nation since the pandemic began.
