Jason Sheasby Named Litigator of the Week

Jason Sheasby was recognized as The American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Week for convincing a jury to award PanOptis $506.2 million in patent litigation against Apple. The publication featured Jason and co-lead trial counsel Sam Baxter of McKool Smith for obtaining a “sweeping victory” against Apple, included a finding that Apple infringed five standards-essential patents for 4G LTE. The article also noted that the jury found all asserted claims valid and that Apple willfully infringed. The Eastern District of Texas case was the first patent jury trial in the country since the pandemic began.
