Irell Named the Law Firm of the Year by Public Law Center
The Public Law Center (PLC), a nonprofit law firm providing free legal services to the most vulnerable in Orange County, announced it will honor Irell & Manella LLP as the 2013 Law Firm of the Year at its annual Volunteers for Justice Dinner on June 17. Irell is being recognized for its dedication and commitment to providing pro bono services to those that need it most.
In 2012 Irell worked on a variety of pro bono cases for the Public Law Center, including immigration, veterans rights, consumer protection and bankruptcy matters. The firm’s attorneys also regularly staff PLC’s Federal Pro Se Clinic, providing assistance to pro se litigants at the Ronald Reagan Federal Courthouse. Additionally, the firm pairs its attorneys with UC Irvine School of Law students to work on PLC-referred bankruptcy cases on behalf of low-income debtors. In total, Irell contributed more than 2,000 hours of free legal services to PLC clients, assisting 39 people within the last year alone.
